A Venue Rich in History and Charm

Nestled in the stunning landscape along the banks of the Tagliamento River, the villa is a captivating place steeped in history. Its strategic location arose when, due to the shifting riverbed, the town of Bolzano became a key crossing point over the Tagliamento, elevating the importance of the borgo.

Origins and Development

The original core of the villa dates back to the 15th century and initially consisted of a tower house with an adjoining barchessa. Nearby stood a small church dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul, intended for travelers crossing Friuli.

The Noble Della Torre Family

The Della Torre family, originally from France and settled in Italy during the Middle Ages, gained great prestige between Verona and Friuli. In 1267, Claudio and Martino Della Torre acquired the lordship of the Castle of Cassacco. Over the following centuries, the family consolidated its influence through important alliances and recognitions from the Republic of Venice and the Austrian Empire.

Among the most controversial figures is Lucio Antonio Della Torre, known for an adventurous and tragic life that culminated in his condemnation and the destruction of his palace in Udine in 1717.

Rebirth and Transformation

After numerous natural disasters, including the devastating floods of 1697 and 1705, the estate was extensively rebuilt and transformed in the 18th century by Count Lucio Sigismondo IV della Torre, lord of Valsassina. The villa took on its current elegant structure, enriched by refined interior frescoes recently rediscovered, while the surrounding borgo expanded with rural buildings, creating a charming and authentic agricultural village.

Centuries of Evolution

During the 19th and 20th centuries, the complex underwent further modifications, including expansions and restorations. A significant change occurred around 1960, when the property was acquired by entrepreneur Carlutti, who carried out important renovations, introducing modern frescoes and new structures.

In the 1980s, the villa passed to Mr. Otello Tombacco and later to the current owners, who have undertaken careful restorative conservation work, restoring the complex to its original splendor.

Today, the villa stands as an elegant and exclusive setting for weddings, special events, and unique stays in the heart of the Friulian countryside. The 18th-century frescoes, the refined decoration of the rooms, the romantic geometric garden, and the evocative Chapel of Saints Peter and Paul create a unique atmosphere, perfect for memorable moments.
